Position: Full-Time | Exempt Operations Manager

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to lead and optimize operations at our Corona and Murrieta locations. This leadership role is critical in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of our waste management services. The ideal candidate will bring strong team leadership, operational strategy, and compliance expertise. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.

This is a full-time, exempt position. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional non-standard working hours depending on operational needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct daily field and transportation operations, ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Plan and oversee the transportation of waste from point of origin to disposal facility.
  • Supervise, train, and develop field and administrative staff; conduct performance reviews and manage hiring processes.
  • Improve operational workflows and systems to enhance service delivery and support long-term growth.
  • Coordinate with sales, customer service, and accounting to align operations with customer expectations and internal processes.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns, ensuring high-quality service.
  • Maintain records for vehicle usage, order fulfillment, and scheduling.
  • Analyze transportation costs and implement efficiency strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, DTSC, and company safety standards.
  • Manage fleet and equipment maintenance schedules; ensure availability and readiness.
  • Investigate and report safety incidents and equipment failures.
  • Conduct internal safety audits and assist with external inspections and permits.
  • Lead training on equipment use and safety procedures.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and partners.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages multiple employees across field and office roles, including drivers, field managers, and administrative support staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class A CDL is required because operating commercial vehicles in an essential function of this position, and no reasonable alternative exists.
  • Proven experience as an Operations or Transportation Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial waste management and compliance practices.
  • Familiarity with logistics, shipping, and regulatory standards (DOT, FMCSA, DTSC).
  • Experience in vehicle maintenance tracking and safety auditing.
  • Proficiency with logistics platforms (e.g., Motive, GoCanvas).
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to manage and mentor staff.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Clean driving record and current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Experience with vacuum trucks, dry vans, and liquid waste preferred.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification and confined space training a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Regular use of phones, computers, tablets, and radios.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Extended periods of sitting may be required while driving.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to respond quickly to operational and safety issues.
  • Use of standard PPE (gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, high-visibility gear).

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a variety of settings, including outdoor industrial, construction, and municipal sites, as well as on public roadways and at customer locations.
  • Exposure to noise, odors, moving vehicles, and weather extremes.
  • Occasional non-standard hours to meet business demands.
  • A safety-first, team-oriented environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range of $70,000.00 to $90,000.00 annually, based on experience.
