About the job Functional Tester


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops a test plan outlining the scope, objectives, and approach for functional testing of the AWS IL5 environment
• Defines test scenarios and use cases based on system requirements, user stories, and operational workflows
• Establishes testing criteria and metrics to evaluate the performance and functionality of deployed applications
• Creates detailed test cases covering functional aspects of applications and services hosted within the AWS IL5 Cloud SCCA
• Defines test inputs, expected outputs, and validation criteria for each test case to ensure thorough test coverage
• Organizes test cases into test suites to facilitate efficient test execution and management
• Executes test cases systematically according to the test plan, documents test results, observations, and any deviations from expected behavior
• Reports defects and issues identified during testing using a standardized defect tracking system, including severity assessments and detailed descriptions
• Provides regular progress reports and status updates to stakeholders, highlighting testing milestones, challenges, and potential risks
• Performs regression testing to verify that existing functionality remains intact following system updates, configuration changes, or enhancements
• Automates regression test suites where feasible to streamline the testing process and ensures consistent test coverage across releases
• Conducts integration testing to validate interactions and interoperability between different components, modules, and external dependencies within the AWS IL5 environment
• Verifies data exchange mechanisms, API integrations, and communication protocols to ensure seamless operation of integrated systems
• Evaluates the performance and scalability of applications under varying load conditions, assessing response times, throughput, and resource utilization
• Identifies performance bottlenecks, scalability limitations, and optimization opportunities to enhance the overall performance of deployed applications
• Collaborates with cybersecurity teams to incorporate security testing into the functional testing process, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security controls validation
• Verifies compliance with security standards, encryption requirements, and access controls within the AWS IL5 Cloud SCCA environment
• Travels approximately 3-4 days a quarter, as required

• SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience
