Were Hiring! The position of Staff Accountant reports to the Chief Financial Officer and will be responsible for the companys accounting function. The position also supports treasury, cash management and financial reporting activities. As a member of a small Finance and Administration team, this individual will be a self-starter, energetic and flexible, able to occasionally backup team members handling related F&A functions such as HR, payroll, and contracts. However, primary responsibilities center on core accounting functions and supporting automation in Sage Intacct for our SaaS software business. The role includes responsibility for the order-to-cash process of our subscription revenue business including ASC-606 revenue and expense recognition compliance. The individual will produce key financial statements, budgets, and reports in keeping with best practices in the SaaS software industry.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities :
- Perform the accounting functions for the organization with special focus on best practices in SaaS software businesses.
- Close books monthly.
- Monitor procedures and internal controls for all major financial accounting functions.
- Utilize Sage Intacct for all major financial accounting functions and integrate with customer-facing business solutions for automating customer utilization feeds for billing and related.
- Produce financial statements, analyze key performance indicators, develop budgets (company-wide and departmental) as well as growth-informed revenue and expense models, and address other reporting and analytics as needed.
- Prepare federal, state, local tax reporting, in consultation with external accounting firm.
- The company plans to become a payments facilitator in the near future. Work with the CFO to develop, implement and oversee the financial operations and compliance objectives for the companys activity in payments facilitation and processing.
Staff Accountant Required Skills and Experience: - A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role with responsibility for accounting and finance, preferably in a SaaS software business or similar subscription revenue business.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience using Sage Intacct Accounting Software is preferred, with particular focus on multi-year contracts, forecasts, revenue recognition schedules, billing schedules and related reporting. Accepting applicants who hold similar accounting software experience, and have the ability and desire to learn Sage Intacct.
- Knowledge and fluency in the ASC-606 revenue recognition guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills among management team members.

Staff Accountant Education/Training: - Bachelor's degree or Masters in Accounting or Finance-related field.
- CPA is a plus.
- Fluent in Sage Intacct and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
