Join us as a Manager Payroll Operations & Services Please Note: This is not a remote role Primary Function: As the Payroll Operations Lead, you will oversee a team of 8-9 payroll professionals, including a manager-level direct report, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of payroll and expense processing. As a key member of the Business Service Center (BSC) management team, you will help shape the vision, define strategy, and drive best practices in payroll operations, leveraging technology and process excellence to deliver high-impact results. Essential Functions: • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Payroll and Expense department, managing multiple complex payrolls weekly while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and internal controls. • Serve as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex payroll issues, developing deep expertise in payroll systems and processes. • Partner with Finance and Human Resources to develop and implement best practices for payroll and expense allocation, tracking, and reporting. • Develop, monitor, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure high levels of service, accuracy, and efficiency across payroll and expense functions. • Lead all payroll and expense system projects and upgrades, including change management planning and cross-functional collaboration. • Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives across payroll and expense operations, ensuring alignment with internal policies and external requirements. • Maintain and update process documentation, policies, and procedures to support compliance and operational excellence. • Identify and implement process improvements that reduce turnaround times and enhance service delivery. • Oversee internal audits and manage responses to external data requests related to payroll and expense functions. • Maintain senior leader visibility by proactively managing escalations and delivering consistent, high-quality service. What you bring Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. • 10+ years of progressive experience in payroll operations and management, including direct team leadership. • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret payroll data to inform decision-making. • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies preferred (e.g., process mapping, root cause analysis, 5S, project chartering). • Proficiency in payroll systems; experience with SAP and/or ADP GlobalView strongly preferred. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. • Demonstrated success in driving process improvements and managing complex projects.
