Job Description

Interventional Radiology, California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates, at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco

The San Francisco Division of California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates provides an exceptional level of Interventional Radiology services to California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC). CPMC is a private, not-for-profit, quaternary care hospital, serving as the hub for Advanced Organ Therapy for the more than 3 million patients cared for by Sutter Health.

IR at CPMC helps to support a high-volume organ transplant center which has performed over 10,000 transplants since 1980, with >60 liver and >200 renal transplants performed yearly, in addition to pancreatic and cardiac transplantation.

CPMC has state-of-the-art IR facilities in a brand-new hospital completed in 2020 in the heart of San Francisco.

Position:

Partnership-track Interventional Radiologist in a premiere, established, private practice Radiology group, California Advanced Imaging Medical Associates. Approximately 75%-time staffing IR and 25%-time staffing sub-specialized or general diagnostic radiology rotations with flexibility based on personal interests. Join the groups five current IR physicians and one IR physician assistant.

Procedures:

  • High volume TIPS
  • Y90
  • Ablation (including MWA, IRE, and Histotripsy)
  • Portal vein reconstruction
  • Complex biliary and urologic intervention
  • AngioVac
  • UFE
  • PAE
  • Kyphoplasty
  • Pulmonary artery embolectomy
  • and more

The ideal candidate would have experience at a liver transplant center and have expertise in Interventional Oncology as well as TIPS, BRTO, portal vein reconstructions and complex biliary procedures that are all routine at this center.

IR at CPMC is a unique opportunity to work in a private practice group at a tertiary care transplant center. This combination affords a high-end scope of practice without the academic requirements for teaching or research. The IR group runs or participates in multiple multidisciplinary conferences each week. There is a deep seeded collaborative relationship with Transplant Surgery, the Emergency Department, and the myriad of other referring providers. The IR section at CMPC has grown into a very collegial group of like-minded physicians who are dedicated to providing exceptional clinical care.

Equipment:

  • Siemens Artis Angio suites, including biplane
  • Siemens Zeego Angio suite
  • GE large bore Revolution CT dedicated to IR procedures

Lifestyle:

The San Francisco Bay Area remains one of the ideal destinations in the world. A modern city with high end dining and culture pairs with immediate access to beaches, mountains, wine country, skiing, and national parks such as Yosemite. Numerous communities with excellent schools are perfect for raising a family.

Very competitive compensation and vacation package. 401k profit sharing. CME stipend. Currently 1:5 IR call which would go to 1:6 with another IR hire. No required diagnostic call.

Qualifications:

  • Board certified or eligible.
  • Fellowship trained in Interventional radiology.
  • CA State medical license to practice.
  • DEA Registration to practice.
  • CDPH RHB X-Ray Operator and Supervisor Certificate to practice.
