As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern, Prototyping. We're offering two separate prototyping internships this fall - one in mechanical engineering and one in electrical engineering. Both roles will support hardware development for September - December 2025. You'll be part of the Prototyping team, responsible for development, assembly, and testing parts used in our humanoid robots. This is a hands-on, in-person role based in Palo Alto. For the right candidate, this internship may lead to a full-time offer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Electrical-engineering focus
  
  • PCB re-work and custom PCB assembly
  • Prototype and fine-pitch solder
  • Perform functional testing
• Shared (mechanical & electrical)
  
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate new parts and resolve fit-and-function issues
  • Contribute to the design and engineering of the next robot revision - your work is production-critical, not a side project
  • Create and edit CAD models for printing or milling
  • Document print settings, results, and workflows
  • Maintain print lab organization and inventory

• Hands-on experience in either electrical engineering
• Basic CAD skills (SolidWorks, Onshape, etc.)
• Comfortable doing physical work - setup, assembly, post-processing
• Able to work on-site in Palo Alto
• Currently studying engineering or a related field.

Nice to have

• Worked on robotics, mechatronics, or general hardware projects

If you know how to build and can figure things out quickly, that matters more to us than checking every box.
