*POSITION SUMMARY*

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the Revenue Cycle.

· Uphold strong professionalism when dealing with colleagues, patients, and affiliates

· Work A/R (Accounts Receivable)

· Review Accounts for insurance trends/report findings to supervisor

· Identify and resolve patient billing complaints

· Experience with BlueCross BlueShield, Tricare/VA, Government Insurance Programs

· Code and bill surgery procedures

· Follow and report status of delinquent accounts

· Work insurance refunds/overpayments and submit appropriately

· All other duties assigned

· Experience billing and coding surgery procedures

· Experience working denied claims

· Ability to work independently

*WORK ENVIRONMENT *

The Billing Specialist will work primarily in an office setting: some travel required to satellite locations and outside meetings (see TRAVEL)

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday

Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner

Requires repetitive hand motion

Minimal lifting and carrying requirements

*REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE*

High school diploma or GED

1 – 2 years of billing experience required

1 – 2 years coding surgery procedures required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
